The national palace museum is definately a must visit when in Taipei. The have a great imperal collection of bronzes, jades, paintings, ceramics, personal artifacts of the imperial court and more. However there are also some parts that are not very interesting to a western tourist in my opinion, like the calligraphy and books sections..
