I just started saber-toothed tigers. First one took 3 beat downs - just like the lion, once anatomy got to 20, the tiger started healing itself - and this guy healed repeatedly all the way to 100% health and got healing to 12.5! It stayed when I tamed it. No loss of healing skill.
